I've spent a good deal of time trying to collect them all and I've come to the conclusion best is probably trade for Amazing Spider-Man #600 when they had Daredevil with Silk web shooters. While their run isn't well known for other reasons that isn't necessarily a bad thing, their "The Spider-Man is a Man-Wolf" series pretty darn excellent. The whole event is a lot of fun. I highly recommend picking this out. It also really sets up some of the other Amazing Spider-Man stories.
My favorite Spider-Man related story in the whole series is probably one at the end where Spidey comes back from the dead!
Spider-Man's life is in a haze after battle with the Green Goblin, and he's struggling to move on or do anything with his life. He's been forced to deal with the fact he has

But when a call from Liz Allan comes through he gets an unexpected visitor from the future. He also gets to face the Green Goblin and learn that his own dad will die. Spider-Baboon was another one of his rogues in quest to find Spider-Man but things seem to go wrong when a strange new villain makes an appearance. He also has to deal with the return of his old friend, Dr. Connors. next adventure is certainly one he won't forget.
The next one is I'm not too fond of either, but once again Spider-Man learns a valuable lesson. It ends with the Green Goblin in hospital, two of them locked in a fight and out of the picture.
This is a story that set the stage for a lot of things we'll see in later issues throughout Spidey's life. It also ends with Peter a bit of hangover. It didn't make a whole lot of sense, but I have no problem with that.
The one I thought was best is Amazing Spider-Man #601, which features a story titled "The Death of the Family" where Peter tries to stop his father from killing himself because of the fact he's dying. This is actually a really nice story, even though Spider-Man still refuses to do anything with the man he sees as his father.
So the next two books are Amazing Spider-Man #604-606.
This one is really a good for me, it starts off with Spider-Man facing the Fantastic Four, and then moves to a big battle with the Green Goblin. I really think a lot of the issues were tied up with big battles like this as they are much better ones to end the run.
I didn't expect this one to end the way it did. For one thing, it's really dark. I think Spider-Man would have really liked to continue deal drugs. It's a little sad. I suppose not many people like to read about Peter Parker, but there are a couple of issues about that.
On top of dealing with the Goblin, Spider-Man has to deal with the return of Hobgoblin as well. His first time face-to-face with him is fun, but it's definitely not what Spider-Man likes doing. It's nice to hear the Hobgoblin talk. I've never been a fan of his stuff, but he has some good story in him this arc. He also ends right after the funeral of a friend. It's nice little coda to the Hobgoblin run.
Spider-Man #605 takes us out of that one area and introduces Spider-Gwen. This is a pretty fun story that takes a pretty good turn at the end.
